Our green progress
At HDB, it’s not just about efficient business practices, but also about consciously contributing to a better environment. This is reflected in every aspect of our company.
We reuse rainwater wherever possible. It flows through our toilets, but also through our cooling system throughout HDB. Thanks to this rainwater collection, we drastically reduce our drinking water consumption.
1.000 solar panels adorn our roofs, resulting in significant savings on energy costs and a significant step towards a smaller ecological footprint.
In addition, we invested in a roof renovation that not only improves insulation but also reduces the energy needs of our buildings.
Our company fleet consists of electric and hybrid vehicles, significantly reducing COâ‚‚ emissions. Thanks to our own charging infrastructure, employees can easily charge their cars, and we offer neighbors access to several public charging stations. This makes our fleet useful for both our company and the neighborhood.

We are proud to announce that our company has been officially certified according to ISO 14001, a globally recognized standard for environmental management. This certification confirms our commitment to sustainable business practices and responsible environmental management.
SO 14001 certification isn’t an end point, but a milestone in a continuous process of improvement. We continue to focus daily on transparency, innovation, and respect for our environment. This means we not only meet current standards but also actively anticipate future challenges and opportunities within sustainable business practices.

Sustainable use of plastics
As a plastics processing company, we are aware of the environmental challenges that come with our sector. At HDB, we do everything we can to handle our materials responsibly and with a focus on the future.
For example, we’ve taken measures within our company to prevent plastic particles from entering the environment. Through a thorough cleaning program and our custom-designed sewer filters, we prevent our plastic granulates from entering the environment.
We’re also actively researching how we can use less plastic in certain products without compromising quality. This way, we’re constantly taking steps toward more environmentally friendly production.
Finally, the rise of bioplastics is also high on our agenda. We’re closely monitoring developments and exploring how we can increasingly integrate these sustainable alternatives into our operations.
Plastics processing and environmental awareness can therefore go hand in hand. With smart solutions and a clear focus on sustainability, we’re making great strides!

Minimal packaging waste is the result of conscious choices in purchasing and deliveries. Wherever possible, we opt for bulk packaging, reusable materials, and a low-waste logistics approach.

Our prevention advisor ensures continuous monitoring of safety procedures and ergonomics. This way, we create a safe workplace where employees feel physically and mentally well.

Sports and fun at HDB
At HDB, it’s not just about collaboration, but also about shared experiences. We believe that sports, fun, and camaraderie create a healthy work environment and strong teams.
For example, we organize an annual sports competition that spans several months, where colleagues can push their athletic limits and support a good cause at the same time. We’ve already been able to support organizations twice this way, and we’re quite proud of that.
Then there’s the indoor soccer competition, where our colleagues compete against other local businesses. And afterward, they all go to the bar together! For those who aren’t quite so keen on the ball, there’s also our monthly after-work badminton game.
The annual team-building exercise is a regular fixture, where we get to know each other’s talents and personalities outside of the work environment. From challenging activities to enjoyable dinners, your input is welcome for a successful team-building experience.
